Lee Taemin, one of the princes of KPop, is making his solo comeback with his 4th mini album titled “GUILTY” on October 30th!
After finishing his military service in April, Taemin has been nothing but busy. He jumped into preparing for SHINee’s 8th album “Hard” that was released in June and successfully promoted the album along with his fellow members Minho and Key, Onew is on a hiatus to focus on his health. The album celebrated the group’s 15th anniversary since debut. Taemin continued to meet fans with his headlining of KCON LA 2023 which thrilled audiences with new and refreshed performances of his major hits “Advice”, “Criminal”, and “Move”. It was the gathering of long-time fans, shawols, and the newer Kpop fans who have heard of him through the praises of many idols.
On October 9th SHINee’s social media accounts made a shift with displays announcing Taemin’s new 4th Mini Album titled “GUILTY”. In the following days multiple photo dumps were posted showcasing film-like shots of various scenes including a pool, a desert, and a house. Multiple fans commented saying it reminds them of the “Drip Drop” Performance video setting and some even said it gave “View” concept vibes with them having a cool, nostalgic feel to them.
The Time Table revealed that this album will have 6 tracks total along with the image of an ice cream bar wrapper with many phrases printed on it including “loving you’s a crime”, “you got me g-u-i-l-t-y”, and “bites of poison apple” being included in the ingredient list. And what really sent the fans spiraling into speculations of what the songs could be about and what musical direction Taemin will go into next is the Mood Clip video that embodies very chill, lo-fi, bass driven rhythms that are refreshing and soothing.
The countdown continues to the release of “GUILTY” and it’s clear to see that shawols and new fans alike are excited and ready to support the promotions of Taemin and this new album. The first trailer drops on the 24th followed by the music video teasers on the 28th and the official music video and album release on the 30th.
