82Major is First Class
by. Deshalia Murray
Kpop is continuously evolving and growing the mirage of amazing artists fans can listen to, because what’s not fun about adding a new group to that stan list? 82Major is a 6-member boy group under Great M Entertainment. The group debuted on October 11th with their debut album ON consisting of the two tracks “First Class” and “Sure Thing.”
Our talented members are Cho Seongil (19), Nam Seongmo (19), Hwang Seongbin (19), Park Seokjoon (18), Yoon Yechan (19), and Kim Dogyun (17).
The group debuted with a bang, with each member bringing his own charm to the stage and giving fans a new group to look forward to. If you’re looking for an upbeat, fun song to dance to, the album’s title track “First Class” is the perfect choice. The song depicts a strong hip-hop sound with street-style dancing and styling. Our rappers are the main focus, showing us their impressive skills even as rookie artists. However, we can’t count the perfectly placed vocals out! Maknae Dogyun, Yechan, and Seongil really shine with their vocals on this track. The song is definitely a great choice for those of us stans who enjoy blasting our music in our car and dancing behind the wheel!
MOnster Rookies
82Major continues to surprise us with their versatility in the second and final track “Sure Thing.”
The pre-released (October 5th) song is a complete 180 from the title track, as it soothes listeners with a charming love song and pretty vocals from the hard-rapping members in the previous track. Coupled with the easy-to-follow and adorable choreography, 82 Major gave fans a first look into their boyish charms. The cute song is bound to put an instant smile on your face.
Besides their amazing talent, the members have some fun little facts about themselves that fans will find charming. Beginning with Seongi1, he enjoys praying before bed and is known as the group’s moodmaker. Seongmo, whose nicknames are Golden and Pororo, acts as the team’s tsundere (which means he seems hard on the outside but is actually super sweet). Can you believe Seongbin was a contestant on Show Me the Money? He unfortunately was eliminated after passing the first round but he still proved his skills at such a young age. Yechan, or Timothy, is our token foreigner. Toronto, Canada-born, he enjoys skateboarding and is actually the younger brother of P1Harmony’s Keeho! Seokjoon is nicknamed “Sobbing Prince,” which we see in his handsome visuals. Bowling and gaming are hobbies he enjoys. Last, but certainly not least, maknae Dogyun expresses interest in martial arts and watching UFC. A multiple judo champion and is only 17? Strong maknae indeed! 82Major has already solidified themselves as strong rookies, with passion that shines through in just a short time. They are worth both the listen and watch, not to mention they are entertaining off stage as well! Check them out on your preferred streaming platform and YouTube!
